How to
commission a sculpture
(UK Mainland only, enquire for other areas)
Sculpture
1. First email with your request and contact details to brendaburgess@brendaburgessarts.co.uk
2. I will contact you to discuss your requirements, if you would prefer
Terracotta or Bronze, price and when to start the piece. Prices for each
commission have to be calculated on an individual basis.
3. You will then confirm to me in writing that you would like the project
to go ahead and include one third of the final price.
4. First sitting. This usually takes one or two hours. I take photographs,
measurements and have a really good look at how the subject uses their
face.
5. Second sitting. When the portrait is advancing the second sitting will
take place to make any minor adjustments. Occasionally a third sitting may
be required.
6. Viewing of finished likeness. We both agree that this is the finished
likeness.
7. Bronze only. Moulding process will now start. A second payment will now
be required.
8. The sculpture then goes to the foundry.
9. Time scale can be effected by clients appointments/foundry timescale.
10. The rights of reproduction of any image created by Brenda Burgess
remain the property of the artist
